Mileage Earning and Tier points?

Hi All
I am thinking of flying from DXB to JNB (in F) next month (off a VS LHR - DXB Connection to guarantee some miles and tier points!!).
If i book the the EK 763/764 i realise that i wont get any miles or tier points, but if i book the SA7161/7158 (same flight as above which is operated by EK) will i be able to get tier points and miles?
Any answers would be appreciated

I believe not. You need to be flying on SA metal to qualify unfortunately...

Do you think there's any advantage trying Gulf Air (although i only think they have a 2 class cabin on the BAH/JNB Route) or even Qatar (i believe they have a F Cabin in the DOH/JNB Route)? - not sure if i get miles with them! I haven't checked the connections with DXB - DOH/BAH for the JNB flight, so this may be a no go.
