I have a platinum amex and have built up enough points to transfer to the flying club - However no matter how many times I fax the information to Amex - the transfer is not happening - has anybody else had this problem - I have phoned Amex and so far no luck - the points are just staying there
ill try again - thanks scrooge but I think it only works with uk cards but I will try
Scrooge - Nope there is nowhere on the Euro Amex card to transfer the poinmts - it asks me to print out a form and fax through - I have done this over and over with no luck

That sucks...oh well, I am sure LRoM will be along at some point.
If you have Platinum, there is a team of people within Platinum that will look after MR issues. I always call when I need to do a transfer, and the points are normally in my VS account within 2 days.
Thanks,
Richard

here was the answer from amex just received by email -
Dear Mr reynolds
I write with regard to your recent request to transfer points to your Virgin account.
Unfortunately Virgin are not a partner with the Euro Membership Rewards programme.
May I suggest you check our website http://www.americanexpress.iecrewards for details on the partners available.
Yours sincerely
-- what a pain in the ass - excuse my language

I am now really getting fed up with Virgin on this issue - I sent the following email now 4 times to Virgin customer relations and to date no answers -
Dear Sirs,
I am contacting you in regard to a problem I am having transfering points from Euro American Express Platinum card to Virgin Flyer.
My Flying Card number is xxxxxxxxx.
I have filled out the transfer form but as yet nothing has been transfered across to FC and after a phone call made to American Express they advised that Virgin do not accept the transfer of points from the Euro card. Could you please explain this reason considering it is accepted by the sterling and the dollar cards.
I would like to point out that VS is my chosen airline for business class travel but would have expected the same points advantage such as offered by other airlines such as BA and SIA by sticking to the one airline.
I await your comments to help clarify the situation between VS and Amex,
Best regards,
Keith Reynolds

You're directing your emails to the wrong people. VS don't call around Card Companies saying "please allow your members to transfer to us". It is a BENEFIT of the card. So the people to hassle are Amex not VS. The clue is in their phrase "Unfortunately Virgin are not a partner with the Euro Membership Rewards programme.". Ask Amex to MAKE them a partner.

Cheers Decker , many thanks but I had thought from when I spoke to Amex they advised me that VS would not accept the EuroAMex card against points for VS -
I think you need to speak to AmEx again - The card you have is based on the IEC (International Euro Currency) platform offering from the UK, which does have VS as a partner.

Preiffer - no I didnt - I have pasted the actual email I had sent as above -
Richard - thanks for your reply but it seems I am fighting a losing battle as I phoned Amex again and they said stg / usd and euro Amex cards all have different agreements and conditions - I wish they advised me that before I applied to Amex in the first place, but I can tell you one thing that they do advertise VS as a partner as do VS advertise Amex as theirs.

Update - Just to let you know I had an email freom VS advising me of their concern that Amex would not transfer the points and also had Amex on to me regarding same. They advised they would look into same and get back to me - I bet I will be waiting but at least they have responded and hopefully it will be sorted out for me.
I just had an email to advise that Virgin and Amex (Euro) have announced that we will soon be able transfer points / miles - great news for amex euro card / virgin flying club members.
