I bought 2 econ. tickets to SFO and upgraded using miles to UC. I was just on the phone to buy return chauffeur cars using miles, and was told that I can only buy cars if I did a full reward booking, I am confused, I was told when I upgraded my flights that I would be able to buy cars, now I am told I can not. Is this a case of left hand, right hand, or have they changed in the last 3 months?
Now this is getting ridiculous. I have spoken to premier and again got the thumbs down, until I directed him to the page on the flying club site that says I am entitled to buy transfers. He looked for himself and agreed that I could make the booking, but would be having a word with the site masters to get the offending sentence taken out!!! So, as I was booking with him, I informed him that we have very large suitcases, and could they make sure we have an estate. Ahhh, as you are booking using miles, you can't request what type of car, if you have large luggage, you have to order 2 cars!!
So, I phoned Tristar, and there is no difference in price between salons and estates, so where is the problem? They must have my card marked, and been reading my reviews on airlineguality.com

It's always been my understanding that upgrade flights qualify for a spend for the limo. As you say stoneman, it's there in black and white on the website. I was going to do that for my upcoming trip, but decided I could get better value at this end booking it myself and saving the 10,000 miles for something else.
Good luck. I hope you get the estate sorted. Or do the Volvo's have roof racks?;)

Come on, mate, are you windinq us up? I am sorry you qot the run-around but do you really think there is some kind of conspiracy? Maybe Necker Island itself is filled with flatscreen monitors, all tuned into your posts on airlineGuality.com...

I took the comment as tongue in cheek. Perhaps I was wrong?

Car booked earlier today with no problems...
Premier agent checked quickly that I was booked on a G and that I could book with miles.
A quick check on the amount of baggage we expect to carry followed, I was prompted on whether I thought I would require an estate car or not and to confirm that my registered FC address would be my destination.
The agent then checked if I wished to use revivals or not and explained where to meet the driver. The whole process took 90 secs max...[y]
Excellent service from the Premier team...[y]

Just an update, got it sorted, tried another route. Went through to flying Club instead of Premier team. very nice guy sorted it out straight away.
Tallprawn, glad you had no problems, just the luck of the draw which agent you get I guess.
GJ, I'm used to most things going over your head, must be all the weight of the designer labels making you stoop

You can have an estate car for a G based limo reward.
Thanks,
Richard
