Hi

Can anyone help on this one?

If my Mum uses her miles to buy me a PE reward flight (Thanks Mum!), can I use miles from my own account to upgrade to UCS on the day at the airport if there is availability?

I will be travelling on my own.

The reason I ask is last time I upgraded a PE at the airport the miles for the PE were credited back to my account and then the UC reward was debited, which I cant see as being possible if two different accounts are involved. But you never know.

Thanks

I've asked about this before and told that the miles must come from one account per segment. I.e. you can't use 10k from one and 20k from another

Sorry Richard, this time Andy is right. For upgrading a reward ticket, the miles have to come from the same account which the original miles been taken. I've asked this 3 weeks ago, both FC and CH came out with the same answer.

Ahh yes that will teach me to read the topic correctly. For a pure reward ticket, no (though the split per sector could be done 50/50 from 2 accounts).

For a revenue fare, the miles can come from a different account. And if it is an Economy revenue flight, then you can get creative. One person could buy the Ec>PE section, and another the PE>UC section.

Thanks,
Richard
