Full story here.(I know its not the most reliable/accurate source but seems legit on this occasion)

Anybody know which a/c and what the problem was?

Edit to add this link to one of the SM columnists praising VS and slagging off BA, what a wonderful paper:D. (You will need to scroll right to the bottom of the link for this bit!)

I believe the problem was with Friday's nights service unfortunately. I don't know what the problem was or with what aircraft.

I do know that Miami has been very busy this weekend so not suprised no hotel rooms were available. There is a large music festival in town, a PGA tour golf event and the Miami Masters tennis tournament. Lots of people visiting these events have been moaning about them all clashing and having to commute from FL due to the lack of rooms.

Not a nice experience for the poor passengers involved. [B)]

Couldn't have been in a worse airport either [:0]. MIA is not good at the best of times [n]

A very nasty experience for all concerned.

It is completely wrong for me to speculate with limited information (that is what the press do, and is why I detest the British tabloids so much), but I wonder if the passengers would have been better served if the MIA ground staff hadn't been outsourced. ;)[:w]

Most 744 services arriving and departing into LHR today were all late by around 2-4 hours. No spare 744 at LHR causes problems when one goes tech, especially when it's 4000 miles from base...:)

Phew, am I pleased that we flew into LHR from MIA with VS on Wednesday morning! I am not surprised that there weren't enough hotel rooms to go around, Miami is very busy at this time of year. It's worth remembering that if you fancy a trip to Miami at this time of year generally speaking if you are specific about dates, flights & hotels then the best thing to do is book early. If you are fairly easy then a last minute deal is usually possible.

A LHR 744 (G-VWOW I think) did the Vegas run from Gatwick last week, so there might be a spare 744 (or at least a spare 343/6 can run a 744 route).

Wish I was one of the lucky ones to get V-Port to Vegas!
