Just checked in for tomorrow's VS400 and printed boarding cards, very straightforward, but not any different really to what the dark side have been doing for years.
One slight exception - there is a portion on the print off which "requests" you to complete details of a "next of kin" who is not travelling on the same flight - says it "will be held as a security measure.... for the duration of the flight". Never seen anything like this before, and not information given or sought during normal check in.
Although I can see it ought to be for only laudable reasons it just feels like another bit of data gathering creep - we ask because we can. I really don't want reminding just before I get on a plane that something might happen that means my next of kin might need to be contacted[V]
