Christmas Sale - Miles + Money discounts?

Noticed today that the Virgin Atlantic Xmas/New Year sale appears to have started. Have been looking at flights to NYC for a while and have been waiting for this sale!

Was looking to book using Miles + Money but these fares have not changed - is this normally what happens during a sale? They are now only marginally cheaper than if I don't use any miles.

Miles plus money fares will most likely not change. The advantage they have are that they can be changed (for a fee) whereas the sale fares often can not. But MPM will not earn miles or TP, so it depends on what you want for best 'value for money/miles'
