Pathetic "sale" if you ask me. They're hardly a huge saving from a regular Z.

I agree. With the likes of maxJet & Silverjet around there is a choice !

the other problem this sale has raised (for me) is that you can now not get a regular 'z' fare in july or august - that maybe ok for some, but i need a 'z' fare that allows a longer stay than 1-month (lhr/lax end of march returning lax/lhr end of july = zero 'z' fares)...

I purchased this one
December '05 published sale fare to SF in J = £1,200 (Z for same dates = £2,300, saving £1,100)

January '07 published sale fare to SF in J = £2,147 (Z for the same dates = £2,788, saving £640)
I'll check out other offerings
As I said - pathetic "sale".
Agreed, it's for summer tickets, but then we also know that J travel takes a slight dip in summer anyway as business travellers are off on their personal breaks - they're just unloading excess inventory.
While it might not be as good as other sales, I am delighted it's there. I was not able to avail of the previous sales (and I remember drooling at SFO for £1200). I had planned to go to SFO after Aer John's exams were over at the end of June so I am more than happy with the saving even if it isn't as good as others.
Oh, and as I have a voucher for a 10% discount on any published fare, I've managed to bring the fare down to less than £2000 [^]

Hi,
Now £1399 to NYC, £1598 to ORD and £1799 to LAX/SFO.
Not bad.

D*mn! I wish I had waited. I bought two fares in the January sale I was delighted to be getting SFO at under £2000 because of a 10% discount voucher. Now it's well under £2000 [:#]
Ah, well! C'est la vie in airline ticketing. You win some, you lose some and it is still less than the published fare

Typical. The period always ends just before I go. Oh well, next time
Thanks
