1. Use your Flying Club 10% discount (although not sure how much longer this will continue)

2. If you are a FVC member, use your FVC 10% discount.

3. If you are a FVC member, take one of the new options ie airport hotel, transfer or car parking instead of the usual 10% discount as mentioned in point 2.

You can only use one of these options.
The 10% discount (both FVC and FC) are on your bottom line invoice price (ie include any extras such as flight upgrades or other supplements etc). The only thing you dont get the discount on is a V Hols holiday insurance package.
All 3 options will allow you to earn FC miles on VS flights.

Ok, so just trying to get this straight in my head. Am I right in thinking:-

I can ring VH and give my FVC number, choose the 10% discount and still get my free car upgrade

and

I can hand over my Flying Club Card at Check In and get my air miles into my Flying Club Account also.

If this is right then I'm happy enough with that, hope it is;) I'm so confused with the other perks, ie Airport Hotels etc. they cannot compare to a 10% discount it would be madness to choose any of them[:?]

Yes that's about it.

The FVC free car/hotel upgrades do still apply as well :)

I must be missing something. Apart from accommodation only, my last VH booking was in 2005 and I've been a member of FVC for quite a while before that.

I have been issued with a new FVC card which is correct as my 2005 booking was nearly 10K. However, reading the new T&Cs I cannot find any reference to a FVC 10% discount - although I did receive one for my hotel booking next week but this was booked before the new changes were introduced.

As a FF member I can still see the VA T&Cs offer a 10% VH discount but can anyone link to where the 10% FVC discount is mentioned as all I can see is the new 'perks'?

When I joined Virgin Freeway, that was the case, had to take three qualifying flights as I recall

Once you had qualified, you got points for all six of the qualifying flights and then you got points for any subsequent economy flights - and you got sliver status 'for life'. [:w]

[/quote]The "lifetime Silver card" line was in the same T's & C's that also detailed "Virgin may change these terms & conditions, along with associated benefits, at any time without prior notice" etc etc... [ii]

Like you I haven't seen any such links but I have had a 10% FVC discount applied to my next booking *after* the new t&c came in despite them losing my original membership and then having to reinstate me... It's a long and convoluted story probably best told on dealing with FVC changes..

Back to EGG's original point though. If VH agents are telling customers that the VA Flying Club

is going to get scrapped SOON.

are they telling us something that's not in the public domain yet, i.e. that VA Flying Club changes are on the way, or are messages getting mixed and they actually saying the VA Flying Club 10% discount for VH products is going to be scrapped soon ? Two very different messages....

You will see on the members website that the perks are heavily advertised and below each one it say "opt out of 10% discount"
it would appear you just have to do that once and the 10% is gone as far as VH is concerned.

The people I have read posts from are actually telephoning VH and enquiring about FVC direct, then being told that VA's FFC is on the way out including the 10% as far as Virgin Hols is concerned.
