Was just reading our crew info on the new a/c and VS say they are hoping to use it for Bangkok, Melbourne, Rio, Seattle, Toronto & Vancouver. I know there has been specualtion on here about routes VS are looking into so just thought id give an update on what they saying just now! Think most have been discussed before but there may be a couple of new ones there.

Joey

Thanks for the info.

As we all know (and have seen with the A380) lots are said at the outset, commercial factors wil come into play closer the time of delivery.

You are aware that this is purely speculative at best?

VS may well one day entertain BKK, however at present this is nothing more than a tentative list of possible destinations for the future...:D

Thanks for the info.

Rio is a matter of when not if- VS have had the green light since JJ started services into LHR some 18months back.

I would imagine these routes are all fairly likely- after all they were all on SRB's wishlist and so far new routes have come off that list (even NBO).

I did hear a rumour that the BKK delays (after all it was mentioned a long time ago) was due to SQ ownership restricitions- something to do with Virgin brand against the LHR-SIN_BKK routes. Not sure how true this is- after all you can argue PVG and HKG also comepte againt SQ. But certainly things do have to go through SQ- hence why DJ's interantional ops are pacific blue not virgin blue.
