Hi,

I'm booked LHR-CPT and JNB-LHR for January next year ( Full fare J )

My question is regarding the codeshare option : I was going to plan my own way from CPT-JNB for the return leg, but the VS website does give me the option of flying on South African Airways codeshare flight VS8354 to connect from CPT-JNB in SAA 'Business Class' for the princely sum of £10.80 more than the basic flights.

What I can't figure out though is : what is the miles and tier points earning opportunity? The SAA codeshare isn't listed in the FAQ.

Thanks,

David.

Thanks HL, but I don't think the rules for partner airlines apply, as this is a 'VS' ticketed flight, not a South African Airways ticketd flight.

For example, going between London and Newark there's the Continental Airlines option. These flights can be ticketed in J,D or Z booking classes and the flight number is VS 3119. These seem to earn miles and TP's at the normal VS earning.

The optimistic part of me thinks this should earn 5 TP's for the one way flight, but I find that a bit hard to believe. A 3 hour flight, booked in 'J' fare class and on a VS ticket though.....

Thanks,

David.
