I just had to post someting, as I am really angry, I was just chilling last night, watching tv, after I had packed my case for my trip home, (getting very excited!!) and thought that I would just check my booking making sure that I have my allocated seats 2K and 3K, we have had these seats allocated since November last year, and to my horror, VS had changed my seats to 16K and 17K!!![:(!][:(!]

So at 11pm last night I called the Premier Team, and got through to someone in the States, who just said that there seemed to have been an aircraft change, and all the seats were wiped out! Great! so asked for my original seats to be allocated, to be told no, sorry these have been allocated! [n] He managed to get me 8K and 8G.

I am still not happy and will try again, considering I've had those seats for so long, and now the flight has 5 seats left to allocate, I was really looking forward to having those seats!

Oh well it could be worse, they could of put me down in Y! [:0][:0]

I don't quite understand the aircraft change reason they gave you - what else would be flying to HKG but an A346 which I thought all have the same configuration?? Surely they would just transfer the same seats to the new aircraft?

The dreaded a/c changed [V]. Had a similar experienced before and now check my booking quite regularly to ensure that our seats are still correct and if not so I can change them back.

I know it does happen, even though it is the same config, they change the original aircraft, release the seats, then try to book them again! Between that time people take the available seats, which left me with 16/17K oh well, I am reasonably happy with what we have, and we have 2/3K on all other sectors, it will just make me appreciate them even more when we get them! Roll on tomorrow, and the CH! [^]

Wow, respect for the way you're taking it like true brit....chin up! As my alias says, I'm pretty horizontal 99.9% of the time. But two things make me take deep breaths. One, non stop screaming kids 12" from your ear for 11hrs and two, having my pride and joy seat selection (reserved many months ago) kyboshed and handed to some lucky so n so who timed it to perfection.

Like I said before DBM, you're taking it well, we all know if it gets you down, the flight will be far worse than going into it with an open mind. Well done sir!

I had a similar problem last year when we were flying back from Barbados. We pre-booked our seats outbound and inbound. Outbound was OK, I checked the day before and our inbound seats were still the same. When we arrived at airport, the seats had changed; I was annoyed and asked why; their reply was that we thought that you wanted to sit together in Upper Class. I told them that if we had wanted to sit together we would have booked them together. They then told me that they could make changes due to operational reasons until I pointed out that the aircraft type was exactly the same.

In the end I demanded that they give me our original seats and pointed out that both my Husband and I are gold card holders, so we were aware of where we wanted to sit. As if by magic they gave us our original seats. It seems a very popular thing for them to do on the Caribbean routes, so I am always aware now.

This has happend to me on regualar trips to Orlando when the seats have become "unavalible for todays flight" the only time i was happy about was when they said we are going to have to change your seats, i was getting ready to moan when she said....for the better YES upper class! [y]
