Hi All
Just tried online to book flights from Glasgow to Orlando for next April. Some fares available in P/E and Upper Class but no air miles as they are offering Z class tickets. Question is why can we Scots not get our air miles from Glasgow the same as we get when travelling down to Manchester? Just wondering?

Regards

Hi
Sorry I meant if you buy two tickets you do not qualify for any air miles. I did not mean I was trying to spend air miles

I'm confused (easy I know!), but do you mean you can't spend your miles on a flight/upgrade or that you aren't going to earn miles on your flight ex Glasgow?. If the latter then you will still earn miles on a Z Fare, all fares, including discounted Economy earn miles, if the former then April next year is the Easter period and I have tried to use my miles for our flights ex MAN without luck also so not just ex GLA.

Hi Attitude 23

The latter option.

The fares table shows flight details but states at the bottom of the page that air miles will not be awarded for the flight.

Hope this makes sense.

Hmmmm that is strange, just done a dummy GLA booking and it does state the FC miles will not be earned. Can't understand why, even the cheapest VH tickets earn miles on VS flights, maybe give FC a call and see what they say, I for one would be interested in their answer.

What dates are you using. Whenever I try and quote for next year I get an error as shown below :

Sorry we are unable to find flights that match your request. This is either due to the fact that there is no availability on this date or because we only fly between Glasgow and Orlando on the following dates
23rd June 07 / 30th June 07 / 07th July 07 / 14th July 07 / 06th Oct 07 / 13th Oct 07
Please check our schedules for further information.

It's a common issue on "sale fare" pages, and we've seen the same (mistake) on many of the pages for offers over the years. Miles ARE awarded for all Z class bookings.

You can book dates on the VS site for April 2008, but it is very strange. If you select the 5/4 outbound and 19/4 inbound and select Econ/PE/UC lowest it brings up flights but if select flexible then it says no flights available[:?], but it says on all of them no miles will be earned. You can also book through VH.

All of my previous 8 UC flights have been Z fares and full miles and tp's have been earned.

I would not worry as Paul says this is a common error on their page.

Hi

As you suggested Neil, I contacted FC re the Z class tickets from Glasgow and they confirmed air miles and tier points WOULD be awarded for the flight. It would appear as mentioned that the web page is incorrect.

Thanks for all the replies.

Since we will get air miles and tier points it looks like we will book the Glasgow flight to save the journey down to Manchester.
