Sat on Varga Girl today to Shanghai, and they've made two notable "tweaks" since 3 weeks ago when I returned home from the US...

1) The "oops, my leg brushed passed the button" sinking seat issue has been corrected. A thick (1/4-1/2") translucent plastic "guard" has been fitted on top of the panel, with holes where the touch-sensitive buttons are. So, result: Seat controls still work; leg movement doesn't cause sinking feeling [y]

2) The "undersheets" for the bed have finally been shaped with a "wedge" at the top and asymetrical cut at the bottom end for the Ottoman. Result: the ENTIRE sleeping area of the suite is now covered with the mattress-protector-type-thing, and it looks like it was actually made to measure [y]

Thats the benefit of flying regularly - you notice stuff like this.

Barbarella on Friday 1st June had the new under matress thingy and it fits great - but wouldnt have known it was new.

not sure about the seat buttons - if its the ones which move the seat up and down an d have the table release then these caused no problems so I assume they are as Paul has stated - but I did find that the "bed converter" buttons were very easily activated by just brushing against - this happens a great deal if you sit on the ottoman.

The snooze pack had toothpaste too - based on previous posts here - was this new too? ( other items were in a basket offered by the FSA)

Toothbrush and toothpaste have been in the snooze packs for quite some time now, but very nice to see them back nonetheless.

Didn't have the improvements on Sleeping Beauty or Sweet Dreamer, but both sound interesting. Preiffer, was the sleep experience improved? Did the cover seem more like a mattress pad?

Not used it lots as mentioned - but it doesnt really make the bed very "soft" - last time I was in UC there were spare duvets so I used a tip I read on here and put that underneath too!! That made the bed nice and squishy!

Would this be the VS response to the NEW BA Club World, or are we likely to see more radical changes/improvements in UC?

Doubt if a radical Suite change is on the cards - Virgin are still counting the cost of initially installing it. I also doubt this is a response to NNRNnNCW - It is too small to be a response in my view, and is more likely to be part of on-going tweaks to improve things.

And I thought I was the only one who experienced this problem!

Noticed this too last week on VS45 to JFK on the 29th and VS26 return on the first ... now I just didn't notice which 346s they were ...

A good improvement.

Actually - for me, it made it slightly worse...

The thing is, they've made BOTH sides of it "shiny". Previously, one side had a slightly rough surface to almost 'stick' to the mattress. With both sides shiney, mine ended up in a rolled-up lump next to my handset after 3/4 "twists and turns through the night" [:I]

Damn! And I thought I was really smart by finally figuring out that there really is a head end and a foot end on the old ones.

I'd forgot to mention in my recent TR from MCO to LGW that the plastic guard had been fitted on the seat controls too.

It definitely stopped the accidental movement of the seat but I had difficulty using the control because my fingernails are so long.

Sorry didn't look which aircraft I was on and doesn't appear in the relevant page on here either. The seat covers hadn't changed.
