VA Black Amex miles - how long to post?

Racked up 19k miles in my first months Amex bill, but could really do with them for some upgrades, how long do these normally take to post?

My May statement was dated 8th May. The direct debit was taken out on 23rd May and the miles hit my FC account on 1st June.

That is pretty much par for the course over the past 3 or 4 months. They used to post sooner before MBNA messed about with the billing cycle.

My May Statement was dated May 25th or thereabouts, and my miles also posted to my FC account on June 1st. My miles have always posted within about three days either side of the start of the month. I am right in thinking everybody gets their miles posted on the same day?

Do you have to pay the bill in full to get the miles?
