Hello everyone this is my first time here advice needed!
I've booked my flights/hotels through VH. I'm flying out to MCO on
Saturday 15th Sept and returning to LGW on Sunday 30th Sept. We are
booked to fly out PE and fly back UC. Is there any possibility that
if I get in touch with VH that I might be able to upgrade to UC on way out (our first wedding anniversary will be in florida) or would
I speak to VA at the airport.

Any advice would be most grateful.:)

First port of call would have to be VH - Va cant mess with the booking until you get to checkin.

As Alec has said you will need to do any upgrade through VH, the upgrade price should be £495 per person per leg, less any discounts you might be entitled to. Give them a call and see what they say, VH only get a limited number of UC seats per flight and the LGW a/c only have a few UC seats anyway so the VH allocation is small, usually about 2 per flight. If they say no then they might be able to request some more from VS, so mention this to them also if no luck first time round, its not certain and usually depends on how well VS are selling the seats themselves.

Welcome to V-Flyer:)

i've always had the best luck at the airport. Only once was I unable to upgrade to UC on a LAX-LHR flight and that was due to the last passenger turning up with 3 minutes to spare!

Hi Caroline and welcome to V-Flyer :)

You can upgrade VH bookings at the airport and get some pretty good deals but you're obviously taking a change as there needs to be availability which will be a problem the MCO routes.

The dates you fly are pretty tight already with not much availability in Upper (the J, D and Z codes):

Sept 15 2007:
VS27 J7 D7 Z2 W7 S4 K0 Y7 B7 L7 M7 Q7 X0 N0
VS15 J1 D0 Z0 W7 S6 K4 Y7 B7 L7 M7 Q7 X7 N0

Z is what you want to upgrade to and it already shows there's no availability on the VS15 as there's a zero next to the Z with not much left on the VS27 either. J and D's will be very expensive to upgrade to both before and on the day of your flight.

As already mentioned though, call V Hols first (use the Upper Class reservations telephone number) and see if they can upgrade you now. If not try upgrading on the day of your flight. VS will not turn pax away at the airport who are willing to pay to upgrade if there is availability.

Hi James,
This is very useful information - thanks. Can I ask how you obtained the availability for the flights - this is something I would like to do for some future ones.

Cheers,
Ian
