It seems that G-VLIP is flying around with no IFE at the moment until a spare part arrives. So if you have a LGW/MAN/GLA flight I would take extra things with you to entertain yourself.

I would hate to be crew on one of those flights. From what I can read it does not say when the spare part will arrive. I would rather fly on G-VSUN at least that has some IFE even though it is Arcadia and J2000 seats in J.

Good luck to the crew on those flights

Hhhhmmmm, imagine MAN/LGW to MCO with no IFE in peak "school holidays" season... how many bored kids can you fit onto a 747?

Takes me back to when I travelled longhaul as a kid... just one big screen at the front of each cabin. For some reason, to this day, I can still vividly remember watching an episode of Quincy on a plane flyign back from the US when I was about 7/8 years old... [:?]

I hope that the Virgin are telling people as they check-in for G-VLIP - at least that would give them the opportunity to buy extra magazines/books/puzzles etc...

Does VS even have the rudimentary big screen at the bulkhead?

I guess it would be easy to hand out personal DVD players to pax in UC as there's only 14, but definitely not for the whole a/c.

Looking at the latest flights its been doing, it seems they have been keeping it away from the MCO route?? 14th July last MCO route?

How long has it been down?

Is this the first of many breakdowns of a rubbish IFE system? Will all NOvas suffer the same fate?

Is it just me, or has Hot Lips always had issues with its IFE?
I mean, it seems that if there's a problem with a planes IFE, eg. not working, or map not working, its usually G-VLIP?
I've flown it twice now, once it had only half the TV channels working.
Seems like Hot Lips is the plane to avoid... (shame, as it has a funny name XD)

Isn't that a given on the MCO route anyway (depending on what class you are flying...)?

MCO-LGW on VS in 2000 was one of my most recent longhaul economy flights - the number of kids who cried/screamed through that night flight was one of the last nails in the coffin of economy longhaul for me... [B)] (and has helped to keep the bank balances much lower ever since! [:w] ).
