Virgin America has now began selling tickets for its first flight which will happen on August 8th.
Link

The airline's inaugural flights are scheduled to take off Aug. 8 from Los Angeles and New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport and arrive at roughly the same time late that morning in San Francisco, which will serve as Virgin America's hub.
I cant Wait for this now. Is there anyone from here goin to be on the inaugural flights.

I Think the Dream Landing would be a paralell landing on both of San Franciscos runways at the same time.

Seem to be very good prices cant wait to see the pictures of it with the passengers on it.
Tickets for the flights were expected to go on sale Thursday around 3 a.m. PDT through Virgin America's Web site and customer service number, 877-359-8474. A one-way ticket between Los Angeles and San Francisco will start at $44, while one-way tickets for the San Francisco-New York flights will start at $139.

Excellent news! It finally looks like its going to get off the ground, after what seems like an age in limbo with just a flashy website to its name.

I'm hoping they introduce SFO-LAS and SFO-MCO routes [:w]

Cheers!

Oh I really do hope they play one of the best Disco songs ever by Patsy Gallant on the flight!

Good luck to them!

...but it is not only about price, is it! if you want to fly on old metal with mediocre service, tatty seats, poor food (if they offer any) and a crap IFE system, there is plenty of choice amongst the legacy carriers. If you want the opposite then fly VX [y] ;)

Oh I agree. My flight to LAS in December is in VA First. But this is a hell of a deal. UA is shit with crap service and crap everything. (Ok so part of this flight is to top-off my UA Mileage Plus account for my Oct 2008 IAD-EWR-SIN-SYD in J, so part of my mile whoring).

So I book VA for November in SF

Well despite earlier reports of the opposite, SRB will be in attendance.

I think the real interesting thing is when do UA drop the $1800 business class PS fare down to 1000?

It may not be a permanent drop, sky, but wouldn't be surprised to see some sort of promotional rate from UA (and AA too).
