Hello everyone,

long time since I've been here following the scales falling from my eyes and the VS love vanishing following some indifferent service.

Anyway, I've just booked a couple of VS flights for later this year, largely as a way of using up some residual miles, but also to see if things have changed at all. Looking at the various trip reports over the last few months form esteemed V-flyers it sounds as if the same bugs are cropping up time and time again, lack of consistency seeming to be a recurring theme.

During my time away from VS I've been looked after very well by maxjet, a couple of delays but even they've been very well handled and as my flights are leisure not so much of an issue.

They're reward flights for Mrs VSlf and myself, PE LHR-ORD (4th Oct 2007) and UCS IAD-LHR (7th Oct 2007). To be honest I haven't got great hopes, but I'm certainly going in with an open mind, and there is even a little bit of me that fondly remembers my early VS flights...desperately hoping that two great flights, with excellent CC could even bring me back into the fold.

So what do you all think I can expect? Happiness and smiles...or a deep sigh acceptance that VS is still JAA (just another airline)?

VSlf

One positive already - I was amazed there was availability for the reward flights.

Welcome back! As you've noted consistency does seem to be the bug bear... my last 5 legs have been excellent but I know that isn't the case for everyone. Best of luck and we look forward to the TRs!

Hi

I just completed two VS UC legs (LHR-DXB-LHR) - my first Virgin flights for 3 years. I have received "inconsistent" service in VS UC before and had similar fears to you. I thought that the service on both flights were great... So the crews (LHR-DBX on 31st July and DXB-LHR on 5th August) did their company proud.

Was also incredibly impressed with the new LHR Clubhouse - haven't been there before (last time we flew from LHR on VS, they had the old Clubhouse). The facilities in the Clubhouse are amazing, the interior design is really cool and the service is excellent (a magnitude better than the service in the old Clubhouse - used to seem to be "wannabe Flight Attendants", now they seem to have professional restaurant/bar staff... big move in the right direction [y] ).

The main mark-down again VS is the onboard catering, I think... wasn't overly impressed.

All I need now is to find a cost-effective way to fly VS UC more often (most of our longhaul flights are MFU'd to Club World on BA - which is a very cost-effective way to fly Business Class).

Boo
