All,

sitting here listening to my HF radio, I have just heard flight VS031 (Gatwick - St Lucia) being told that St Lucia airport is closed because of a hurricane. [:#]

It would appear that the flight is diverting towards Antigua, and when the flight gets there they will check the weather again for St Lucia before deciding where to go (although it will probably be Antigua).

Looks like Hurricane Dean gave St Lucia a stomping, with one drowning, some roofs ripped off and the banana crop flattened. Are there any V-Flyers there at the moment ?

There's now a message on the VS Web Site about the current weather situation.

I emailed the East Winds Inn to ask whether they were all ok. They replied they were; they'd had problems with power and phone lines (since reconnected) but were otherwise functioning ok and "doing some clearing up".
