Need 1 TP

What's the best (i.e. cheapest) way to earn 1TP? If it's a nice destination I may even make a weekend out of it!

Yes, BMI Business restricted does earn TP's. I'm presuming you've already looked here, where all the details are...

The best way (from the UK) is indeed a quick bmi business sector. Under 2,000 miles, it's 1 TP.

As long as it's a revenue business fare, it doesn't matter. The only issue is that BMI have axed business on a LOT of their routes. "Premium Economy" doesn't cut it unless over 2,000 miles.

I read a post/story over at FlyerTalk a while back that there was this rich American who hired sex workers from Thiailand to fly around Southeast Asia and do mileage/status runs for him. There was some loophole with United Mileage Plus at the time. He got caught as a bunch of his flights had him in the air on a flight in Asia and another flight domestically here in the USA.

That I do not know. They do have a good deal of free time. I would imagine that sex workers/hookers (whatever the current PC term is) would rather sit on an airplane than preform the normal tasks of their job. Just a guess.

Apart from the talk about Bangkok / SE Asia ways to earn, probably one of the easiest is to get a business restricted ticket from LHR to GLA or EDI. Not that cheap, but then you can fly back on the cheapest economy if you want. Think the Business ticket is about £170 one way

Premium Economy books into Y class for UK/Domestic, which is counted as full fare business for Bmi, isn't it? Fare Rules here (Though Premium Economy is often more expensive than Business Restricted so probably of little use).

I think HF is right - I definitely recieved 2x tier points for a prem economy return LHR-EDI last year.

Prem economy gets lounge access too.

Bmi, like most other partner airlines will credit 1 TP per flight in Business Class under 2000 miles (see here). However, Bmi counts its EU & UK Domestic business class buckets as C, D, J & Y (Y *usually* being the Premium Economy fare bucket). Do check the fare code before you buy (it is displayed), and note that Business Restricted fares, which book into D class, are often cheaper than Premium Economy.

Its an easy way to grab 1 or 2 TPs if you are short, but its not always a cheap way of doing it. A return can set you back £300-£400 depending on destination, while a PE return (K) during the sale will often be not much more.

Sorry to bump this back up again but I have just been looking at BMI flights - lots of date options for £200 incl tax business restricted flights to Jersey for a spring weekend.

The other good thing about the bmi website is that it is very easy to book return flights with a different class each way - e.g. super cheap tiny fare one way and a business restricted the other to get the 1TP (and it confirms the fare code before you book).
