Priority Check-In, at the expense of...?

I've been lucky enough to have OLCI for every UC flight I've been on out of LHR, and each time, bag-drop has been a tiny little queue, whilst UC check-in has been monstrous!
Consequently, I have never checked in at LHR UC check-in!
And yes, any queries about seat/ticket/life, I always defer to the nice people of the CH..

Thinking around LHR, I can think of several airlines with more than 3 desks for their most premium class.. BA, Emirates. Umm.. SQ has only ONE desk for First.

A couple of years ago when flying UC from LHR and there was a huge queue at check-in the security lady had taken me to a less congested desk. Can't remember what it was but it wasn't PE or Economy. It was behind the bag drop and set back against the wall
