I have already reserved particular seats online for a forthcoming flight, but myself and girlfriend are not seated together as these two seats were the only ones left on the upper deck (MAN-MCO) when I booked. (I mistakenly thought that PE was was fully booked, and VS do not provide the seat plan until you pay for the flights).

The seat map on the VS website now says that I cannot change them until check-in. My girfriend has a fear of flying and we need to sit together, otherwise she will not fly.
Given the fact that we are booked to sit apart, can this be changed via the online check-in 24 hours before departure. I realise that a percentage of seats are held back for check-in allocation, but will the system allow me to change them for us to be seated together.

I did try to get this information from Customer Services, but they said they could not do anything until check-in, but did not say whether that was via online chech-in, or at the airport.
The CS lady also suggected that I contact Special Assistance for my girlfriend`s fear of flying. What can they assist with? Free valium???[^]

If you contact special assistance they will put a note on your booking and it may be then possible for them to change the allocation for you 24 hours before.

In my experience no other seats in PE are released for OLCI but bulkheads and exit seats are available at the check in desk.

Are there no seats available downstairs for you to sit together, these are usually the last to go? Please also bear in mind that no seats are reserved they are just requests.

As Jilly said give Special Assistance a call, I would also mention to the crew on boarding that your girlfriend has a fear of flying so they can help reassure her. I would also check-in early for your flight to try and back the exit row seats upstairs as these are the best in PE and you will also have a member of crew sat opposite you for take off and landing, again this may help reassure your girlfriend as they can answer any questions about what is going on etc.

Thanks Jilly and Fozyo.

There were no PE seats left together downstairs. The only seats that were left were single ones upstairs 5 rows apart. I will take your advice though and contact Special Assistance to see of we can get PE seats together. Here`s hoping...
