Just venting spleen really.

Flew LHR-MIA-EWR-(taxi)-JFK-LHR two weeks ago. In J on VS, and F on CO.

The VS tier points and miles posted just fine, the CO didn't show up. So I wrote to customer services, (as I was advised to do on the phone) who insist I have to send my boarding card for the CO flight in.

Now I fly around four times a week, so keeping all those would fill a suitcase, the flight was booked via Virgin, I quoted the booking ref for the ticket which prooves I booked and paid...

Am I unreasonable to expect them just to manually add this on? You dont pay five grand and expect to post pieces of paper in to customer services to get the benefits you paid for.

Spleen vented.

I think you're reasonable as this sort of thing has happened to me. However the argument is that VS have no proof that you took the CO flights as they don't have access to the CO computers. Now in my world (there are people in chains and we can ride them like ponies - sorry wrong story arc) this is NOT a customer problem it is a SERVICE PROVIDER problem but in their world it's easier to have you send proof - presumably as you might not have it or might not bother - thus saving them the miles.

But VS have proof I paid...

Anyway I told them to add them manually or have a supervisor call me and listen to why I am taking my transatlantic business back to BA.

May work!

And this REALLY sucks. Paying for flights and then not getting the TPs/Miles because you never actually took the flight even though they kept the money. BA stung me on a transatlantic like that once...

Had you booked through CO I could better understand their point of view. The fact that the flight was booked through VS does make it seem unreasonable that they can't sort it out. Not too long ago I flew CO on a US domestic flight and got on the phone with someone beforehand and had them add my VS FC# to the booking. I didn't think there was any way I'd be automatically credited, but surprisingly, it worked. It was the VS flight (booked directly through VS) that I had to chase down. Go figure.

I fly CO at least once a month. Booked on CO.com and enter my FC number. Never an issue but sometimes takes a few weeks to almost two months to post but sometime next day. Do not worry. Whats the rush anyway?

Ah the rush is this is a single point I need to get to Silver, which I want to be before my next booking, which is coming up very soon.

Ahhh, Well then. E-Mail CO at [email protected] and a) ask them to confirm the agent entered the correct number (as you provided your card at the gate - wink nudge) b) Has the VS FFP data been submitted to VS FC? And if not when? Mention some BS how you and your friends truely enjoy flying CO and the fact that your miles can be credited to VS puts them over the top when picking a US carrier. Preferable send this email Saturday morning UK time so my CO DCA-DEN flights this weekend get credited quickly. I hate flying out of DCA....but got 14F on a CO7NG

Hope this helps.

Thanks I know the FC number was on the boarding card so should be ok there...

FWIW, the flight was terrible, 3 hours flight at lunchtime in first and nothing to eat.
