Can I ask you experts for your advice please :)

I am travelling UC next month and my friend travelling with me has a PE ticket brought through Airmiles (i.e. not Virgin miles).

She is looking to try her luck at upgrading at the aiport on the day of departure using her Virgin flying club miles - do you think she's in with a chance and how much money will she have to pay?

Thanks

Clare

There is always a chance, I doubt it but it never hurts to ask...From memory I think it is 20K miles, someone please correct me as I am sure that is wrong.

I suppose it depends what class the airmiles has been booked in as to whether you can use miles. If it is an S or W, then it is 20K miles. Otherwise I assume it would be either a case of cash or a mixture of upgrading the ticket to a miles upgradable class with cash and then using miles

Thanks everyone, we'll give it a go .... mind you, that's assuming the flight isn't cancelled due to the 'strike'. [B)]
