LHR, money and eyes!

Random two questions but here goes.

1) Does anyone know if you can still sign up for the Iris eye check thingy when using the new LHR Upper Class security channel

2) Travelex money exchange.. are the rates the same in the departures terminal by check in as they are once you're airside?

1) Can't see why not, you'll just have to walk round to the security area, and be tempted by all the shops that you have to walk through to get there.

2: The rates online are much better than you get if you just turn up, and I wouldn't be surprised if they did have worse rates airside too. So book online and pick it up landside. I know it doesn't really answer your question though, sorry!

I can confirm that Iris registration is still possible using the UCW, as the security channel Virgin use exits in the same place as all the others, and the Iris room is just to the right as you're going into the main departure hall.

I've thought the same about the rates before too - so the last few times I've been in I've checked - they ARE the same. Identical commission %, identical rate.

Doesn't mean it's a GOOD rate, but they are at least consistent. [y]

Do you recommend the Iris scanning? Will it make getting through Immigration etc... any quicker?
How long will it take to get registered?
