Hi guys,

I'm new to this forum, and to start things off, I would SO fly VS every time if only they had a service from LHR-KUL (was on PE from LHR-PVG and it was amazing - if interested, you can read my TR on http://www.sqtalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=404 ), but unfortunately not at the moment.

In Jan, I'm flying from KUL-SIN-HKG on SQ and then get onto VS to LHR and was just wondering what is the opening hours of the Clubhouse? If I could overnight there, then it will be excellent! [:p][:p]

Any ideas?

Cheers!

Welcome to V-Flyer, quikflyer. I was made to feel at home at SQTalk, hope you find it the same here.

I have never been to the HGK Clubhouse, but I am pretty sure that it is closed overnight - other will no doubt confirm.

Welcome to V-Flyer :)

I'm sat there now and have been here since 13:00. The HKG VS CH is shared with Eva Air so I guess the CH opens a couple of hours before the first Eva Air flight leaves HKG.

The problem with getting to the airport early (or already been there) is that VS check-in there doesn't open until mid-afternoon, so unless you use the in-town check-in you'll be stuck land-side with your luggage for some time. It's HK$100 (about £6) each way on the Airport Express to get to Hong Kong and takes about 20 mins. The in-town check in area is located on the ground floor of the Airport Express station (go up in the lifts). I'm not sure what time this opens, but I used it today at about 12:00 for my 23:35 VS201 flight to LHR.

Even though each desk there has an airline sign over it, you can in fact use several of the desks so even if the VS desk looks closed you just one of the stated desks as you enter the check-in area (you will need to buy your Airport Express ticket back to the aiport first to get though the barriers). There are about 5 desks you can use. They will ask you which airline you are flying and load up their printers with the correct boarding cards and bag tag labels for VS. You get your CH invite there as well.

My flight from SIN arrived at HKG at 10:15. My luggage wasn't checked though so I went though immigration, collected my bags and then jumped on the Airport Express train to the in-town check in area, checked in, had a quick coffee and then made my way back to the airport. I then just went though security and made my way to the VS CH. There was a VS staff member there when I arrived at 13:00.

There is a hotel connected to HKG you could over-night in (The Regal Hong Kong Airport) which is located land-side.

Regards
