Hi,

I think i would have to ask a guru about this one :)

I am flying on a CRTW (MH&VS) ticket ex SYD. I understand MH is a partner of VS. I gave MH my FC number and also VS my FC number. Any of you guys had experience flying on MH and getting VS miles /TP's into your FC account? Hopefully it won't be too much of a hassle.

Is it automated or manual? I.e. if manual keeping boarding passes and tickets and send it to VS once i completed the trip? I heard this has to be done? Hopefully not as it would be a lot easier if its all automated:)

p.s. my route is:
SYD-KUL-NRT(MH)
NRT-LHR-SFO(VS)
LAX-TPE-KUL-SYD(MH)

This is all in J cabins, MH books it into D, VS books it into Z.

Hopefully i can get my Silver Card :)
Would have to do the KUL-SIN run to get gold i think :D

Thanks,
Kenn.

Kenn,

From my experience there was a longish delay in getting my miles credited for a LHR-PER flight on Malaysia. I had to send in my boarding passes to get the miles added. However both myself and Wifey got double miles credited for all 4 sectors of the trip along with double tier points. All in all worth the wait, just remember to keep your boarding passes.
ISTBC but I think you should have 20 tier points for the routing shown, so silver should be attained.

I got some MH flights added to my VS account last year, but didn't get the points until after I sent my ORIGINAL boarding passes in.

Thanks Marko. How did you get the double miles and double tier points?:) Was it due to the delay or there was a promotion?

Cheers,
Kenn.

This information might help. Scroll down and it will give you an idea of the miles to be earned and the class you are booked into with Malaysian Airlines (D is business class). This will give you an idea of the TPs to be earned on MH

Thanks for that :)

I will need to top up around 20TP more after my RTW to get to VS Gold i think... Looks like i may need to do it on the KUL-SIN run on SQ F!

Regards,
Kenn.

No, it was not any sort of promotion etc. There was I imagine a big mistake as it appeared on both our statements with the correct date, route, class etc but each leg was replicated. An extra 26156 points and 8 tier points, if only mistakes happened more often!

Hi,

Nice! I think they have stopped the codeshares now with MH. They codeshare with SQ now apparently.

Also how did you find MH in J? I was actually on the SYD-KUL-LHR return back in Dec 06/Jan 07. Good service throughout although the seats are lie flat not full flat... Will be interesting on VS UC when i try it :)

Cheers,
Kenn.

We did MEL-KUL-LHR return in MH Business last year and 3 of the 4 sectors were credited within a couple of weeks, the fourth (actually the first sector) didn't and had to send in original boarding card to FC and it was credited within a further 7 days.

Enjoyed MH found them to be very accommodating and all requests were met with a warm smile and prompt service.

Hi RobL,

What did you think of the J seat on MH? :)

Cheers,

Well, the level of service was beyond reproach. The CH at KL is beautiful and HUGE!

As for the seats. Nothing special to be honest. Because of the timings (which I love about SEA) I got on the plane, had way too many satay (I love this about MH) and fell asleep (which is a good sign) to wake above the andamen sea. I also managed to sleep between KUL and SYD. Was woken by a beautiful woman holding a mug of coffee. Firstly, what could be better? secondly, Coffee should ALWAYS be served in a mug :)

Hi,

Yeah the MH KUL lounge is huge :) Will be my first time to enter the VS CH LHR in Jan 08 on my upcoming trip. I suppose the VS CH LHR is bigger?:)
