Online Check-in: What seats become available?

Hi,

I'm flying from LGW on VS043. I currently have seats 34 K&J.

I was wondering what seats become available 24hrs before departure? I would love to bag seats in rows 21 - 23. Does anyone know if those seats are held until online check-in opens?

If so, I think I may be at the PC poised ready to click exactly 24hrs before take off! Anything to get near the front of the imigration queue!

My experience over the last couple of years is that this section has opened up for OLCI 24 hours before - I usually check my family into that area if possible.

However, a couple of weeks ago I did just that for the outward journey LGW-MCO and my husband was moved even after printing off the boarding pass, and on the return no seats opened up at all. I hope that this was a one-off though.

The only seats that won't be available for OLCI are exit row and Bulkhead seats, the rest of the a/c should be available. Obviously you can't just take somebody else's pre-reserved seats but the other 40% that isn't available at the minute will be available, which should include the rows you want.
