Tier Point Query

So far this year have flown:

LGW - MCO PE
LAS - LGW PE

LHR - HKG PE

I'll shortly be travelling from Hong Kong - Taiwan with Eva but I don't think this qualifies for any tier points or miles? Then:

HKG - LHR PE

LHR - DXB UC
DXB - LHR UC

LHR - SFO PE
SFO - LHR PE

If I've calculated correctly that will leave me at 28 tier points.

My next flight will be to Miami in December with a return via Las Vegas in January. As I'll be two points short of reaching the Gold Tier prior to the Miami flight, is there any advice regards acquiring the two points in the interim? Are there any partner airlines we could take a trip with to acquire the points? In Jan we flew with America West from MCO to LAS but were unable to claim any miles/points as Virgin required the boarding card which we'd discarded, the tickets weren't sufficient Grrr!

It'd be nice to get the additional two points before e head off to the US in December but not at any price! Are there any short hops with partner airlines I could consider?

Erm, I hate to be the bearer of bad news but if you will have reached 28 points you will need another 12 to attain gold.

You need 40 points to get to gold and 30 points to retain gold

Ah yes, darn, not sure where I got 30 from but thanks, that rather answers my question! Not sure I can justify two unnecessary PE flights just to reach the 40

I suspect you had 30 on the mind because that is the renewal level. However, as previously stated, 40 is the balnket level set by VS to first attain gold I am afraid.
