FC GEX and HEX upgrade vouchers

A similar topic reminded me of a something... I got my silver pack in April and the enclosed HEX and GEX vouchers expired a few weeks later. Bit pointless really. Is this usual? Do they not send out a new load or do you have to wait? If I renew again, I'll probably have the same problem. TIA.

Good point, I rarely use them but recently needed to and all the ones I could find has expired so this may explain it.

They are also being offered if you book a PE flight right now....I seem to have collected a few myself.

mine in the past have had about 6 months before they expired....longer but still not that useful. Also never understood why you get 5 of each (a return trip to the airport to fly VS would use 2 vouchers). Would be so much better to get 10 to use on either train

I was looking at my upgrade vouchers for two returns flights in August and noticed the same thing - they had already expired even though we just received them not too long ago. I would have complained, but we are going for AU this weekend (r/t J-class BD to DUB) so will receive more with the new AU pack. I'm hoping those will have a long timeframe on them.

Just an update. I emailed VS to ask what the point of sending vouchers out that don't last for the year of membership, and the reply was that there was an incorrect date on a batch of vouchers, so it was a mistake.

They are sending me some new ones, so I'll be able to upgrade for my next trip. [y]

The ones with my Silver and Gold pack last year both had short validity dates. I thought it was normal to have them only valid for a short time.
