Virgin Wines, the retail operation, is one thing; but Virgin Vine, the winemaker doesn't sit so well with me. Wine making would appear to be more the grape and region than selling on brand names alone (Champagne being the notable exception; although you could claim that they have earnt their reputations based on the contents of their bottles).
Where's Howard when you need him? [;)]
Just had a quick look at VV website and from what I can see this is just a generic Californian wine, they make no disclosure about regions etc and from experience this generaly means that it is made from the open market purchase of grapes and produced for them by a winemaker
I have heard nothing on 'the grapevine'[B)] that Virgin have purchased any vineyards etc and so doubt if they have gone into proper vini/viticulture and it is just another 'get the brand out there' stunt.
Just done a search and its Brown-Forman marketed, bottled at Fetzer's, priced at $10 and 'drinkable' if you like that sort of thing.
How long will it take for Berry Bros Rudd to become UK suppliers and for this to appear in Upper on VS? (hopefully never)

If I remember correctly VV has been around since 2005. It was very difficult to find a store in NY that had any of the three wines available. The search quickly dwindled. Need to see if this restaurant will have the bottles for sale.

Here's a link to a website that's selling two of the wines. A google search for 'Virgin Vines' also provided other retailers.

huh, thanks. I guess I never thought of checking online. It seems there are only two (not three). Oops. Thanks, VS-EWR.
