Booking an RTW from a foreign travel agent

Folks

I am looking to do an RTW starting and ending in HKG in March. Has anybody any pointers on how to achieve this considering I live in London at present?

Considering the cost of a RTW, your trend to fly in F or J and that you may have an entourage; book your ticket in a country to whore the exchange rates. So maybe book your RTW in the USA in USD but depart from HKG and pay in USD. Of course research the exchange rates and such at the time of booking. There were some excellent deals from Southern Asia that some folks whored up in the past.

I believe I recently read that RTW tix are no longer bookable in US--in fact they may have have to now originate in London. Of course that's with Great Escapade--the Singapore Air RTW is probably very different.

Correct [y]. Possible Howie could book via one of the Caribbean VS outlets; assuming he flies VS or on the Great Escapade.

Now I reading Howie's trip reports over time, I guess he would want to fly SQ in the new F/J in the new 777 HKG-SIN and try out the new SQ T3 lounge. Maybe the A380 SIN to SYD too (then a Virgin Blue flight to Gold Coast/OOL/YBCG).

There were some very good OW RTW fares bookable in Bangkok its only 2 hours from HKG, lots of info on the OW forum over at flyertalk.

Well if you hopped over to NYC you could book the VS/TG RTW which is a total steal in J
