Apologies if this has been covered before, but if it has I can't find it.

I'm going to Barabados at the end of November in economy. I haven't been economy for a while and am concerned about leg room.

Does anyone know which seats the IFE boxes are under. Seat guru states C, G, H, but on the seat ratings page on here it seems to differ.

I think I once read that the middle seats have a bit more legroom than the 3 by the window - does anyone know.

Finally are the seats with 34' on all Gatwick planes as yet.

Any help would be much appreciated

Hi,

IIRC from my Y flight in April, there certainly isn't an IFE box under the G seat as I sat in it and didn't have a problem. I don't think there is any difference in the leg room between the 3 or 4's, but I know that along the LGW fleet the seat pitch does varying very slightly on a few rows.

There hasn't been much mention of the new 34' seats for a while now, but I am pretty certain that nothing has been done yet, although ISTBC.

Well it is on the FC website now however it states 'These spacious seats will be fitted on each aircraft' so perhaps it's yet to happen. Notice the typo on the page title and V-Port in the picture!

You can now purchase the extra legroom seats I think for about £25 each at check-in. (They are cheaper than the exit row)
Whcih rows they are depends on the a/c. I brought G-VXLG out yesterday and the seat rows were dotted all over the place. I know on the alitalia a/c (ROS / GAL / LIP / ROM / ROY) it was rows 53 and 54 DEFG and several others. I had a look with the ground-staff as I was a bit sceptical about whether there actually was more legroom in these rows, but there definitly is, so I would say it is well worth the money if you cant get an exit or bulkhead row and are quite tall. Sorry i cant be more specific on which rows it is but i cant find the info anywhere and I binned yesterdays brief sheet with the row numbers on. If I get info on the way home I will post it on here tomorrow.
And yes there are no IFE boxes, thats only on the V-Port system.

Thank you I will try and get them. I like to stretch my legs and being 6.1 I can't in bulkhead seats.

I believe the original plan was :

ROS/GAL/LIP/ROM/ROY
Row 50 A/B/C/H/J/K
Row 51 A/B/C/H/J/K
Row 53 D/E/F/G
Row 54 D/E/F/G

TOP/AST/XLG
Row 22 A/B/C/H/J/K
Row 31 D/E/F/G
Row 32 D/E/F/G
Row 62 H/K
Row 63 A/C/H/K

My parents are flying out at the end of November on an LHR AC, presumably being used to cover the others as they get modified?

The LGW 747 fleet are due for a major planned service: that is the reason for the LGW/LHR config swop - the seat modification was just an opportunity to be taken while the aircraft was out of action during maintenance.
