I don't know if it is me or what, but I just recently flew to MCO and back in Y class and was the first time in the grey seats. I found them very uncomfortable and had a square arse in no time at all, it was likened to sitting on a plank of wood! I don't seem to remember it being as bad on the old red seats.

Perhaps it is a measure to help prevent DVT because I don't see how you could sit for a long period of time on them!

The grey seats on the LGW/MAN fleet are exactly the same seats as the old red ones. All VS did was put new covers on them.

The worst VS Y seats are the original A346/LHR 744 V:Port Y seats.

Not tried the newer ones yet on some of the A346's though (they are brand new seats)

I personally didn't think they Y class seats were that uncomfortable, maybe it was just a seat with not much cushion left in it.

The new Y class seat in the A346 has an extra lumbar support control and the seat cushion slightly slide outwards when reclining. The headphone jack is on the front face of the armrest and of course the controller is on the seatback in front.

I think I prefer the new Y seat over the old one. It feels there are more support and padding. Not a big fan of the cushion sliding forward when reclining though.
