Reported in the Times of India today, that a Virgin Atlantic flight into Delhi had a go around, because of a stray dog on the runway. It did n't actually specify the date, but I suspect it was yesterday.

Why do newspapers write about go arounds?
And then why do they get posted on here? [;)]

Point taken daywalker. I was going to write the same thing but ukcobra an article that is funny. Come on, going around do to a dog on the runway! Much different than the normal gust, aircraft still on the runway, fog or indication issue.
Fact is that I see short news pieces on the TV and online around normal go arounds. They are no big deal. Why do they get reported? Are you interested?

I wasn't actually having a dig at anyone (I know that's not been said but reading my rather short reply back it could look that way!).
Personally I feel people can post what they want, no one is forced to read it.
Am I interested in go arounds? No but then I'm just contradicting myself as I was interested enough to open up the topic and read it. That was down to the recent attacks and I thought it might be related etc [:?]

Normally we never get to hear about the reasons why go-arounds happen.
I thought as I read it in the India Times, and the interest in all things India/Airports this week in the Indian press and Virgin were specifically mentioned I felt like posting it.
I thought it might have been of interest, I guess not. Guess there is no interest in that sort of information, so in future I'll keep it to myself !
