VirginFlyer Luggage Tags

Hi Pix,

As requested, I've done a few rough deisngs for luggage tags. Please bear in mind that these were thrown together as examples.

Could you give me some feedback so I can home-in on what sort of thing you're aiming for?

I suspect we might need to be careful about which images are used, since every photographic image will have a copyright issue. Perhaps if you started with the Airbus I painted for the homepage, we wouldn't have any hot water to be dipping our toes in.

I hear what you're saying. Design 2 was just a bit of fun really (my rebelious side shining through).

On thing to note, Design 4 uses a screen-shot from Microsoft Flight Simulator, so it isn't a photo... Would that make any difference copyright-wise?

I'm going for Design 4 too - bound to be eye-catching when it goes sailing past on the carousel.

Imagine seeing someone else at the airport with a Virginflyer tag on their luggage! That would be pretty neat.

There all good but it's got to be 4 follow'd close by 1.
Would like to see one with the airbus.

You've certainly captured the Virgin style well, and I appreciate the small details like the subtle shadow on the cut-out bit at the top. Nice work!

Having a love of language I'd always go for tix with a msg.

So joining in the spirit... (and still not approaching as good as Pix's [:(])

Age and experience aren't always what they're cracked up to be
Frequent Flyer? Then frequent Virgin.
(the then is only there in case the pun was too weak )

Actually on review - why do I bother - the originals stand!

TJ - I like #4 the best (would love to have #2, but....)

Pix - I like them all, but #1 (pointy) the best for the double entendre

Something like "I like to go on top" might be a good addition to the phrase suite

I think you've managed to catch the VF-brand/look better than I managed to.

My fave is number 3, the Virgin Surfer one It's cool as it has the VS tail graphic and has an internet-related tagline

TJ love #2 but it would have to be #4 and pix I think #3 is really cool.

Pix it's a shame you don't have a beloved 744 to play with!

Technical Q. are you thinking of making them like the Amex tags so the address details are hidden? If so you have to make provision for the brass eyelet which will influence the artwork.

What about the reverse side?

I particularty like TJ's 4 and Pix's 3.

However if previous experience of luggage tags is anything to go by there won't be much chance of:

Since mine have usually been snapped off completely or at best in half !

Maybe laminating would be a better option as per Decker post from the previous thread, much more bendy

Unfortunately that company don't offer the flexibility we'd need for both TJ's or my designs (we'd need full colour bleed on a white tag). I did some investigation with US manufacturers, and we could probably get it under-or-around a couple of quid a piece if we ordered between 250-350.

Its as simple as uploading some logos, and then customers can choose products and they will print and deliver..

They dont do luggage tags, but how does a nice mousemat sound?

That's not a bad idea... I would need to create the artwork specifically for the item, obviously.

I'll still look into a source for these luggage tags though, as I quite fancy a set myself

Wouldn't be a full bleed image, though, and that 'fussy bugger' part of me tends to want to do it right rather than just cheap. Cheap and right is a good combination, but need to keep hunting down suppliers.

Played with the CafePress store. Of course I have no idea yet what the quality of goods would be like (maybe I should search the newsgroups to see what others think of their print quality...). In the meantime, I've chucked a few items up here;
