Aircraft Codes

Hi everyone,

I am new to the forum....

I was just wondering if anyone could tell me what the different aircraft codes represent.

On my outbound flight LGW-MCO it says my aircraft is a 74S whereas on the way back it is a 744.

Can anyone tell me what the difference is?

74S is a Suite-fitted Boeing 747-400, and 744 is a standard (non-suite) 747-400.
