Hi all,
excellent forum have already learned a lot.
I wonder please, if I could ask your advise on a couple of things.
I am flying to MCO in May for the first time in UC.
Will be staying in a LGW hotel the night before.
Is there any reason not to use the twilight check-in?
I am wondering if they"ll have the right luggage tags, clubhouse passes etc?
Secondly can someone tell me a bit more about the LGW clubhouse, eg can you have breakfast there or do they just serve snacks?
How about these beauty treatments/massages? What do they have and how does one book them?
Lastly, I gather I may be lucky and get a LHR 744 on the way out, but the way back will be the normal LGW 747. How do the seats compare with regards to sleeping in them?
Thanks for your help
Chris

Hi Chris,

Glad you like the forum!

Can't think of any reason not to use Twilight check-in as you are already travelling in UC - you could check-in on the day as the UC check-in queue is significantly shorter than the Economy 'snake' queue.

Check-in will always have the right tags and Clubhouse Invites - so no worries there. If you want some in advance (tags) then phone VS up and they will send some out.

Not been to the LGW Clubhouse for a couple of years, but it is great. Yes you can have a great breakfast there - its not just snacks like peanuts and biscuits. Don't forget you'll have the great food onboard too from the UC Freedom menu - as much as you want, when you want.

Beauty treatments/massages and haircuts - I did write out the list of them in a FT post a long time ago - will try and find it for you. You can book in advance at LGW - contact them via:

LGW Clubhouse - 01293-444342 ([email protected])

They will also be available to give you a run-down of the treatments, I'd recommend phonign in advance and making an appointment as they do get busy.

If you want a good chat and potential celeb gossip, chat to the shoeshine guy Jack - star VS employee.

If you do get a LHR 744 on the way out - you will get a J2000 UC equipped plane with a bar, but no Inflight Beautician.

A Normal LGW 744 will have the Recaro Alitalia seats and the Nova IFE system.

Thanks Richard for your very detailed reply.
Will contact them asap to prebook my massage.
Great pictures also.
What I was trying to ask is how the seats compare as to comfort .
How far do they recline, which one is more comfortable to sleep in, etc.
Thanks again
Chris

As to comfort thats down to personal opinion really.

Pitch is at least 55" in UC.

I'm not the tallest of people so have no problem in sleeping in either, I know people of both camps that either prefer the Reacor's or J2000. Its a while since I sat in a non-j2000 UC Seat for a flight so it would be hard to compare for me. My gripe was that there was no bar in UC for MCO :(

Thanks,
Richard

Hi, yes the salon treatments do apply to the LHR facility too.

I took the list a couple of years ago from a V.Touch brochure I was given, so use it a summary guide.

Thanks,
Richard

Thanks Richard for that information. I have plenty of choices for my long layover in the Clubhouse. :)
