Hey Guys,

Just want your thoughts or recomendations on this.Im off to Orlando end of june for 2 weeks,My passport expired 3 years ago but I still have a valid b1/b2 Visa in it.I now have a new passport and was wondering whether I should get the slip and fill it in to say I have a visa and produce it along with my valid passport to immigration or just fill in the visa waiver form and not bother with my american visa? Basicly I want to get through immigration as quick as possible and im wondering what you guys think. My girlfriend will be travelling with me and she has never been to the USA before so if we do get grilled im sure the questions will be directed at me as I have a visa etc and not her!.

Any comments would be most appreciated

Thanks

Joel

I had one of those multiple entry US Visas for ages until they introduced the Visa waiver programme. I took my old passport with me on a couple of trips, and they'd stamp my new passport with 'VIOP' (Visa In Other Passport) until one day immigration said the Visa was no longer usable, and I had to fill in the Visa waiver like everyone else.

So, I'd go for the Visa waiver form and avoid any complication ;)

I think you would be better off just filling in the Visa Waiver form as your girlfriend is going to have to anyway.

Thanks,

I once had a B1/B2 and these were originally valid for life. The US then determined that these expired after 10 years.
My daughter has just got a B1/B2 and this is only valid for 1 year and involved 4hr at the US embassy in London.

I do not think that there is much difference in processing time at immigration with visa or visa waver.

I have had an A2 and this does speed things a little but it cannot be used on holidays[:(].

cheers

If there was a separate queue at Immigration for people with visas (and it was shorter:) ) I would get another - I also had B1 / B2 in my old passport, but just go down the visa waiver route now.

I am pretty sure that now when your passport expires so do any US visas it contains

I have just had my L1 done, and the embassy actually advised me that althoght I was applying for a 3 year, as my passport had only 2 years left this would be the maximium they could grant - for Mrs Bluefish it was no problem she wwas granted the full three years as an L2 - figure that out?
