What a great match.

Personally I didn't think we deserved to go out though.

Same old story with the penalties, feel sorry for the boy vassell.

Nevermind at least I have 2 weeks of Florida to look forward to on sunday.

Thanks

I hope for the Ref's sake, that he doesn't get any EUFA or Champions League games in England next season[:(!]

For anyone outside Europe who is bemused by this topic:

There is a football (soccer) tournament going on in Europe at the moment. England lost in the quarter final on penalty shoot-outs, after the referee controversially disallowed a goal.

Beckham.......useless, useless
I am trying to be civil, but, this bunch of overpaid premadonnas who after 70mins looked shattered. How can they be unfit? Sven needs to go, he just cannot cut it

Let's make this slightly more on topic.

Anybody else think the referee looks a bit like SRB?

SRB is more popular here than Urs Meier ever will be...

I also think it was a great match, but on the balance of play Engurland were parked in their own half for the best part of an hour.
The manager made the wrong subs (exc rooney)and terry did have his arm over the keepers shoulder stopping him from jumping and the penalty spot was the same for both teams but hey the sun's shinning brightly here today so it's not all bad eh!!!! :D:D:D:D:D

I concur.

Me too!

My two pennyworth:

I think the ref should have allowed the goal, yes I know you mustn't touch the goalie when in the air but in a goal-mouth mellie like that it was virtually impossible not to and from all the angles I saw in the (many) replays it did not look like an intentional foul, I think the ref should have exercised his discretion and allowed the goal.

Ends.

On balance of play we deserved to lose... we didn't appear to have a midfield quartet at all in the second half. That "goal" might well have been given in the Premiership but you can't stick an arm across the goalkeeper's shoulder and expect to get away with it in a European match, unfortunately.

Beckham should have been substituted, IMO. The lack of energy, leadership and inventiveness from our captain really seemed to hurt us. And that penalty -- sheesh!

Portugal were all over us for what seemed like most of the match. Only a few times did you see that England magic, and it didn't last, we simply didn't do enough to win.

As for Beckham, BC, I fully concur, he was a disgrace!

I thought black cat was a mackem, but that's just me.

btw, if you're swiss head to ASDA, they're offering free eye tests to Swiss nationals.

Despite the amount of time he spends in Glasgow, the Cat is definitely not Scottish. In fact he talks with a posh English accent (but is not English, for that matter) and lives 10 miles from LHR.

Being a follower of the game with the oval ball, I was disappointed at the lack of tries. Beckham's attempt at a conversion showed some promise[}:)]:D:D:D:D
