Flying LGW to MCO in december and returning same in UC (spoilt Kids). Interesting thought that if the LGW UCS only have 14 seats as is possibly proposed what happens if more UC seats have been sold as there are 28 seats in UC at the moment? I expect they have only released 14, on the seat plans on-line there is no avalibility in the rear cabin outbound or inbound so may be these are blocked?

Stephen

Although there are 28 Phyical seats in the LGW fleet not all routes allocate all of them

I am flying to MCO today for example and only half the seats are for UC the rest are used as PE overflow as PE sells a lot more

I think the carribean routes sell all 28 so that's the only routes you'd have this problem.

The only "Bad" thing about putting the suites into the LGW fleet is that by reducing the number of UC seats and increasing PE the chance of an op-upgrade from PE will diminish considerably.

Today it seems almost routine for people flying out of LGW in PE to get upgraded, sometimes with UC service sometimes in rows 11 and 12 but with PE service. In the future, if you want UC - buy a ticket! ;)

Any steer on the number of reward seats that are going to be available in UC or PE? I'm holding enough miles to take the family to Florida in PE, but a couple more flights (especially if I can get in with the 20k miles promo) will get all four of us into UC.

Am I likely to succeed, or might we have to travel on separate flights / days?

Can't see the Reward Inventory increasing esp as there will be fewer UC seats, however you are Au and they may look favorably on your request for a family of four travelling together, it has happened in the past ;)

Interesting points, also explains why we were upgraded PE to UC LGW to ANU last october. six of us outbound ! but highly amusing on the way back mrs s me and the two kids got upgraded at the airport 1 min before boarding and the inlaws stayed in PE, only able to tell them as we went up the first stairs and they took the second on the tarmack. What amused me was they usually travel UC and had downgraded to be with us in PE, mother-in -law xxxxx didnt speak to me till we got home(god bless her)

Having just 14 suites on a LGW 400 will make that cabin feel like a First class cabin on other airlines.

CX have 12 suites in there nose and BA have 14 first beds in there nose I think too!

LGW Suites will feel very exclusive and cosy in that small upper class cabin without any one feeling left out in Upper class B zone!

Possible we are going to lose the special offer UC upgrade prices from VH that are put on at the start of the year - usually get them for about £1400 both ways for 2 people - as appose to brochure price of £3400 - don't know if i could justify an upgrade price of £3400.

But i can't wait for the nose only section it is going to be fab!!
I always think the UC service you recieve on LGW flights is far more attentive than LHR, with the same interior now(soon anyway), LGW is the place to be...lol

Agree with Bazz, normally it is a MAX of 2 UC seats per flight, but the fact that you are Gold and such a regular premium customer may make a difference;);)

We'll have to see about the flights - of course we could always split up and go two UC and two PE - I wonder which of Mrs csparker and I will get to sit in J?
