What to expect??

Hi Everyone,
Just picking your brains a bit.......

My mum is flying to vienna on friday with BA, its her first time flying!!
She wants to know what to expect on board in regards to entertainment and food/drink?. As I have never flown with BA I would know, have any of you guys experianced a BA europian flight?
Will she get comp drinks, head phones, seat back entertainment ect??

The BA forum has always been a huge source of amusement to me. There are a number of regular posters there who hate SRB and VS with a real passion.

I haven't visited for a while, but when I went over to get the link I noticed the top thread was

BA's european flights are, and it pains me to say this , are actually quite good compared to much of the competition.

In terms of food and drink, they have a compimentary bar service, and normally the 'All Day Deli'. This is normally a roll or croissant, juice and some fruit or cake. Also get Tea/Coffee.
I think entertainment depends upon aircraft, although I've never had any on the European flights I've been on.

I last flew BA to Brussells a few years ago. No IFE to speak of, but for such short flights its not really an issue. We were given sandwiches and a drink which admittedly i thought were great as the flight is literally less than an hour and i certainly wasnt expecting a service, but thats what you get for paying the extra over a charter.

If there is IFE it will likely be one with the drop down TVs and headphones should be provided, although, i always take my own noise cancelling ones anyway. You may get seat-back TVs but i wouldnt count on it.

Otherwise, as much as i dislike BA, you will likely encounter a smooth flight and good service.

Is your mother travelling in Club Europe or Euro Traveller?

For Club Europe it is usually a gourmet salad meal.
With wine etc....

Of course the Guardian piece was actually funny - wouldn't call it a slating by any stretch of the imagination... actually gave props to VS in a number of ways.
