I've noticed some adverse comments about the airbus 343s - could some kind soul put my mind at rest about the VS23 LHR to LAX in UC??? Its a special 21st Birthday treat for our son, tell me the flight is okay? We're sitting in 4ac and across from us can't remember the seat number...... I know it won't be the suites but is everything else okay?[?]

I have flown the A343 to LAX in Upper Class, and whilst they do not have Suites, it was my first Upper Class flight, and I absolutely loved it!

Have since flown the Suites on the 747 , which are a big step forward, but you will still have excellent flight, on-board massage, excellent food etc etc

I am sure you will have a wonderful flight - enjoy :D

Thank you rich...means a lot to me that!!! UC is so special to us and reading all the messages about the suites etc., I began to wonder if we would enjoy the flight at all!!!

Hi Annemarg,

The 343 is OK it's just that so many of us LOVE the 747's, we do bang on about it, myself included [:I], but hey, any VAA flight is tons (tonnes?) better than the rest :).

I'm sure you will have a good experience Annemarg, go have a great time! [^]

The only real problems with the A343 are the fact that they are dated, and that PE is not of the same standard as with the 747. If you are to be in UC you will likely really enjoy the flight.

When on the A340-300 to anywhere avoid rows 7 and 8 as this area is small and you can sometimes feel left out.

Row 4 is great.

Speak to the FSM or CSS on board tell them its your sons b'day I am sure they will do something for him.

Tell the Beauty Therapist to then maybe she can give him a treatment.

What date are you flying?

We're flying on 4th August! Can't wait!!:D:)[8D] I've ordered him a cake and a gift set of champagne and glasses - just hope he's not too embarrassed!!! You know what we Mums are like!!
I just want it to be special for him! He's no idea that we're going Upper Class - in fact he doesn't know who we're flying with at all.!!

This is why I asked the question on another threat about what time we could check in, as we leave the hotel at 11am and hoped we could check in early so as to make the most of the Clubhouse.

Annemarg,

4th August isn't far away, I'm sure your son will enjoy it, maybe more on reflection than at the time, we boys do get embarrassed by our mum's sometimes ;) It will be a great experience for all of you :)

Sure it wont be a problem to check-in then (have checked in for flights about 7, or so, hours before take-off...). Especially since you are flying Upper Class - they try to be accomodating... ;)
