Does anyone here have a Texaco card to collect stars?

Ive just got one as i read somewhere that you can turn 600 stars into 1000 FC miles, but apon reciept i cant see any mention of FC in the literature, their website mentions turning stars into miles but says there are conditions on this, but gives no mention of what these conditions are.

If anyone has this card, please let me know, and confirm to me that they are still allowing you to transfer to FC miles

Thanks :)

Hi HighFlyer

I do have one of these cards and yes you can convert 600 points into 1000 FC miles. I usually manage to earn 600 points on this card about every 4 months or so. There are no specific terms and conditions that I'm aware of.

Like you say it's not well advertised but as soon as you have 600 points just call the we.o.u hotline and they will transfer the points to you FC account for you. The transfer can take upto 4 weeks sometimes as they collect all the transfers and send them to FC at the end of each month.

You can keep track of your Texaco card ballance by going here Enter your email address and earn a bonus of 50 points. Look out for double point promotions too, usually get a few each year.

James, is spot on.

I don't know why they don't advertise it any more. VS doesn't seem to get a mention in any of their literature. I know the promotion is still current 'cos it is only a couple of weeks since I converted another 1K worth. Every little helps[:I][:I]

A mate of mine work's for the RAC and fill's up his van around £150 a week plus his own car so he has my card.
When i fill my van & car up i keep my recipt's and get the casher to put the point's on the the card i have around 300 point's a week go on:D.

Shame texaco dont have fuel stations on the water (most are BP[V]) i'd be rakeing the points in around £500-700 to fill up a boat and i do 2-4 a week:D.

Cheers

Pegitt, that's still a fair few Nectar points, whatever good they do :). Has anyone found a worthwhile use for them?

I used my Nectar card for scraping the ice of my car windscreen last winter :D That was a very 'rewarding' experience hehe.

My TT is very thirsty, and a 110- mile round-trip every day means that I rack up the Nectar poitnts at a good rate - the triple points promo on BP Ultimate was great recently.

Shame that there is no way to convert them to VS points - I end up using them against food purchases down at Jamie's...

Thanks,
Richard

Coincidentally i've used mine for car-related maintenance which has put a big kink in it :)

I've been waiting a while for this to happen - it seemed obvious when Tesco got their deal with BA, but i'm still waiting. Then we can begin a mega "Sainsbury's and VS" thread like the one over on FT, where they discuss Palmier biscuits, discount electricals, and now Freeze Dried Finest Coffee.

How does it work 1point =£1 spent?
ie £600 =1000 miles?

Thanks for the resopnse guys, i shall start collecting! Already signed up for the 50 bonus points.

Do any of you use the card at the so-called other points collecting stores? I think they mention Boots, B&Q, Woolworths, etc? I could never remember all of the places that claim to take the card, but this sounds like a good deal, i could easily rack up a few thousand miles a year through this scheme!

Just transferred 1800 points that's 3000 miles to Birkin's FC account, thank you Texaco.

Highflyer, I think the list of stores, etc., are where you can redeem Texaco Stars, as opposed to where you can collect them?

No Texaco stations near me unless Nottingham Nick Knows different.I could do with finding one as I have just done the deal on a new gas guzzler. I had to really look hard to find one that did less to the gallon than the jeep but I found one.:D

If you saw Top Gear last week. Get one of they Ford GT things - 4 mpg!!! 75 miles tops per tankful.

Elder Junior Davies was on a tank driving day last Friday - those thing do 1 mpg.

Well not so junior now - he was 19 last month - but I need to retain my air of superiority; so the kids are still known as Brat1 and Brat2

Chris

I use Three Ways at Blidworth (near the Forest Folk) or the one at Redhill, Arnold at the A60 / A614 junction next to the Little Thief. The one at Larch Farm, a few hundred yards from home is now a Gulf station[:(] . Hope this helps.
