I got PP through my Plat card and I'm deffo glad I have it. Yeah the lounges all seem to resemble mid range hotel lounges but they are peacefull and free drinks (mostly) is nice. Just used it today at Schipol in the Globeground Intercontinental Lounge and it was above average (free Amaretto!!)

Regarding New York, don't know what Newark is like but JFK is really badly served, only 1 lounge available at present and its not even in the right terminal..!

You can arrange access to the Heathrow Servisair lounge via Holiday Extras (and probably some similar outfits) if you decide not to go with PP just yet, or don't have time to sort it out (I don't know how long it takes for the card to arrive).

when I last had a PP card I lost it a few days before I needed it[:(]
I phoned them up and they faxed a letter to the lounge I wanted to use!! PP seem to have good custumer care I only stopped using them as I have 2 AU cards..

It's worth remembering that with Centurion, as well as PP, you can use the Clubhouse regardless of class of travel.

Priority Pass membership does not admit to any Virgin Clubhouse, Centurion admits only the primary (black) card holder and supplementary (black) card holder and NO guests.

Just as a point of information on the Northwest Lounge at EWR - which as has been said can be used if you have a Priority Pass card.
I have not been Gold member too long and obviously I would use the EWR clubhouse in future!

I have travelled on VS18 and VS2 several times from EWR and managed to use the Northwest Lounge even though it is not in the same area as the departure gate. I had to go through security and hand baggage scan and explain I was going to the Northwest Lounge and show my PP card. You then have to come back and go through security again when going to the other section of departure gates which Virgin uses.

Note I did this on about 5 occasions - some of which were shortly after 9/11 so its not a case of no longer being able to do so because of increased security. Apparantly in can depend on the individual security check people.

I have experienced this problem with PP on a few occasions at other airports - no lounge in the correct section of departure gates - for example Air Canada have no lounge at Ottawa airport for ANY flight to the US!!!! Only lounge is for internal flights within Canada or International.

cheers
mcjock

T3 has a Servisair Lounge and a Kuwait Oasis Lounge (both next door to each other). There's a thread around here somewhere about the lounges at T3.

There's a Delta Crown Room and a Northwest Worldclub at EWR - B. Both are airside and therminal B is structured so that once you go through security you can only get to lounges in the same area as your departuure gate. When I flew from EWR in May, I couldn't access either of the lounges from the gate which I was departing.

mcjock,
the PP card will get you into various lounges (obviously not clubhouses!)

as you apear to be an FC AU you can enter any clubhouse anyway!:D providing your flight has a VS flight #

It seems only the BAA have issues using lounges in a different terminal than your departure. Before I had a *A gold and VS Cards I used PP often and had no problem with lounge access to other terminals (except @BAA airports that is)

On the subject of using PP lounges in a different terminal than the one from which you are flying, does anybody know if you can do this at LAX?

Specifically we will be flying there later this month and flying out with AA from terminal 4. There is no PP lounge in this terminal but there are in several others including terminal 5. Will we will be able to get to this?

Thanks

Elwood
