Hello,

Does any one know what lounge VS will use in SYD when services start in December for UC/ VS FC Gold pax ( I assume it will not be the BA one!!:D)

I understand that HK is getting done over, and you would hope that SYD would also have a clubhouse.

DJ (Virgin Blue) have a lounge called the "Blue Room", but understand this is quite basic, and in the other terminal anyhow.

Its likely that VS will use a partner airline lounge initially and if the new route is successfull look at a dedicated lounge.

Blue room(s) would be too basic for UC pax

TBS - so close to SIN - its a shame you cant do a stopover:D;)

Blue Room is in the DJ Terminal 2 (Domestic) which is about a 10min public bus ride away- so blue room is out of the question. But it is rather flash with plasma tv screens, restaurant, bar and even PS2's so dont think ahhh LCC=non flash- your forgetting we are talking bout virgin here!

It would depend on which part of the international terminal we will operate to. They have a new extension which is known as the South wing (gates 56-65 i think) also called pier C. It is smaller than the north wing (pier B) and currently is used by the likes of united, air new zealand, thia, singapore, lauda (austrian) australian(QF Y only product), air paradise, air canada, freedom air and Pacfic blue. The north wing is used by everyone else but is dominated unsurprisngly by QF. I would imagine and hope that we would go from the south wing, its smaller, newer and generally a lot nicer. With so many *a partners in there (incl SQ + NZ) and VS sister airline, pacific blue, one would hope we would get south. The amount of lounges in the south compared to the north would indicate we would share for the time being. The lounges at SYD are:

- Plaza Premium Lounge is located in both Pier B Airside (Passenger Access Only) and Pier C Airside (Passenger Access Only)

- Silver Kris Lounge is located in Pier C Airside (Passenger Access Only) on Level 3.

- Air New Zealand Lounge is located in Pier C Airside (Passenger Access Only) on Level 3.

- The Sakura Lounge and Executive Lounge is located in Pier C Airside (Passenger Access Only) on Level 2.

- The Red Carpet Club and First Class Lounge is located in Pier C Airside (Passenger Access Only) on Level 2.

- The Golden Lounge is located in Pier C Airside (Passenger Access Only) on Level 1.

- The Qantas Club is located in Pier B Airside (Passenger Access Only) on Level 3.

Seeing as i dont think VS would share with QF or what a lounge open to all carriers(plaxa premium longe) we will prob be in the south wing (pier C) sharing with United, NZ or SQ- perhaps it will be a simular system as at LAX where u go to who ever has space! I hope all this helps.

These two wings or piers or what every you call it have completly different check in zones,arrival/immigration zone and passport control etc.

I am newbie here.........

My guess is that VS will use the Air New Zealand lounge in Pier C which they share with TG. Its a fantastic lounge with great views of the tarmac area - bright and airy and tastefully appointed. Close tot the gate areas too.

Pier C as a whole is much nicer than Pier B.

Very close to making a decision - should be announced later this week, but looking strongly like ANZ lounge. Cheers
