Please excuse the ******* but Mrs N says that some times i do!!!! never heard it myself but! And here is the big but. We guys seem to like a few snorters when we fly and some how that causes the little warlrus to pop out. How do we deal with that on a flight? and how do you FA deal with the Mr Warlrus wether in Y PE or UC? A gentle nudge or something a bit more, how do you stop the snoring king keeping the rest awake on a long overnight flight? My darling wife is sure that i have done a degree in snoring at the university of snoring in snoringville!!!!!!!

Many different classes, many different airlines, lots and lots of snoring people!

Its not too much of a problem for me on Virgin as the supplied ear plugs do their job and generally block out the noise.

Northworst last year in Y with no ear plugs and the loudest snorer in the world (he must have been shattered because he slept through takeoff, the entire flights, and even landing and taxi) was a little bit harder to deal with. On this flight no-one, not even the FA could/would wake him and keep him awake.

I would either wake the passenger, and ask if they would like a class of water ? and if that does not work , just a nudge with the service cart (jokes ) .[}:)]

I won't admit where, when, or which airline, but once I had a walrus across the isle. I found gently throwing ice from my drink at him, preferably so it landed around the neck area of his shirt and thus gently melted worked.

Walrus rather unpleasant to the cabin staff when he awoke. No prizes for guessing which nationality he was!

Another time the walrus was next to me, so (after a few drinks), cranked up the volume on the CD player and tapped a foot and shook one leg vigously to the music. Walrus woke up and asked me to stop shaking the seat. After this had happened 3 times he asked to be moved. He was the same nationality as walrus one above, must be something in their upbringing.

Both incidents were in business - I am sure they both complained like hell about the 'service' with no conception of how they had disturbed others.

Cheers!

I find a well judged knudge usually does wonders for a walrus immediately next door. I swear by Breath-right nasal strips as a way to stop Walrus like noises from oneself (maybe they should be put in the amenity kits:))

I can very occasionally snore really badly, but when I do Dean usually gives me a prod in the rips or two. But its only usually bad when I have a cold or something.

But unfortunately I haven't really had a problem with snoring on flights. I just can't sleep on planes (but only ever flown Y), trains, cars, floors, most other places are totally fine out like a light. But for some reasons planes not good. But then being 6'2" the seats aren't idea place for me to try and get comfy in to sleep.

Foz xx
