Hi,

Does the VS17 &9 operate as a daylight flight in winter? I know they are eving departures and it's dark...but in UC do you get a sleep suit etc as it's dark all the way?

I'm sure from memory last xmas it was treated as a daylight flight

These flights are daytime flights

However on ALL UCS suite flights Sleep suites are avaliable on request only.

We used to not offer sleepsuits on the VS17 which to me seemed crazy as it really is a night time flight and most passengers do sleep.

Everytime I flew I wrote up on the flight report that we needed sleepsuits (and I guess others did too), well I have just done this flight and lo and behold there were 4 bags of sleepsuits. Hurrah! As Declan says there should be a bag on every flight though so please just ask.

VS900 to tokyo is actually overnight but it never gets dark in the summer. Sleep suits are offered. Just flew back on VS901 yesterday in UC (J2000 this time) and it was a daytime flight yet sleep suits were offered.

Silly question: When we flew on an A343 in August we got the new black sleep suits - was it the same for you or did you get the purple/grey ones?

From mid July all LHR flights now receive Upper class suite style service, ie, no trolley in cabin and new sleep suits are offered.

The purple/grey ones will now only be offered from LGW until stocks run out.

Thanks Declan, I thought that was probably what was happening.

Yep, sleep suits were also offered on my last VS53 flight. There weren't many takers though. Poor Niki was up and down the aisle "Pyjamas? Anyone?" trying to get rid of them - I think she even asked me twice ;). Maybe I just looked tired?

Cheers,

So, would you get a sleep suit on any daylight flight if you asked? I do like to sleep if i can but i'm sure i've been told on LGW Upper flights that they aren't stocked?

Sleep suits are only on night flight TO LGW, not day flights from LGW.

Once the LGW planes get suites the the sleep suits will be avaliable on request only on day flights and will be offered on inbound night flights.
