I was told that this flight in Oct (tues dep) will be a 343, however so far one hasnt shown up on the listings.
Does anyone know when this is scheduled to change from a 346 to a 343? (techs excepted)
also was the 021 ops by VBUS on Aug 17 due to a tech prob

Thanks

ron (now suffering from paranoia)

Oh leaving out Vport what is the better of the other two IFE?

Hi Silverfox

Which date are you flying? During Oct the flights are split about 50/50 between 343/346 with no obvious pattern to it.

VS21 on 17Aug was op by VAIR but it looks like it was planned on a 343. A lot of mid-week IAD flights in Aug were 343s.

Cheers

Out on 02/10
Back on 19/10
Dont mind a 343 on the return leg but a 346 with vport going out will certainly while away the time!
Oh and if anyone out there has any influence on a/c scheduling... Welll, my wife would like to fly in a 747 so if VS22 can go tech tech!!! you know what to do
And a late dep would be better as it goes over my house and a 07.00 arrival then means its dark!!!

Hi Silverfox

Currently showing a 346 both ways :D Can't tell at this stage if it'll be a UCS a/c though.

Re the 744 on the way back ;) it's very unlikely I'm afraid...if a 340 goes tech on VS21 we can stick a 744 on it but there will be no 744 crew in IAD to bring the a/c back, so it would have to wait until the outbound crew came back in hours.

I can certainly do my best to delay it though! ;):D

Cheers
Alan

A bit off topic, so apologise, but if an A343 goes out, and the crewe return on an A346, do you have to limit the number of pax on the A346 - or is there enough A343 crew to legally cope with a full A346?

Apologies if this doesnt make sense !

The minimum number of Cabin Crew required for the A346 is 11 although it normally operates with 15. As the A343 usually has 13 crew it would be possible for them to bring back an A346. Everybody would just have to work a bit harder ;)

Or two crew may fly out as passengers on the 343 to operate as crew on the 346.

Alan,
thanks for the offer of a delay.
I did think about doing it myself.... but the situation when it goes and i dont tended to make me think again.

As regard the 747 substitution.. Looks like 021 on the outward needs to take a sickky!!!

Well looks like a 747 to SFO then

Thanks for all the info. and non ucs doesnt affect me.. a mere PE

I'm hoping that the 340 will be taken out for its' scheduled check-up, and they sub a 744 from LHR to JNB on 29Sep. The seat map gives me the idea that there is not the room the 744 has, plus the 340/360 aren't configured to UCS yet[:(]

After reading the notes from the FA's, I hope I get you folks on my flights.....you sound like a lot of fun!

Thank you for all the info, and if you happen to get the main track on the 601 (Seat 2K/2H), come say hello:)

The seat map cannot give you any indication of space.

The J2000 seat is very spacious and has lots of room.

A340-300 get suites from Summer 2005.

Yes half of the A340-600 have suites now.

2HK on the A340-600 are at the bulkhead and give you loads of space.

Thank you, Declansmith, for imparting your expert knowledge, and I also appreciate the fact that you replied to my question. Maybe you will be assigned to that flight? Thanks again!

If you are scheduled to fly on the A340-300 from LHR-JNB, seats 2H&K are in the second row. If you would like seats at the bulkhead, you need to request 1A&C, 1D&G or 1H&K.

Hope this helps.
